SB 150 Pulled from Committee Agenda

UPDATE: The committee vote has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 17!

The Senate Public Health Committee announced this morning that the Breathe Free Wisconsin Act would be removed from their agenda. This means there will not be a vote on the smoke-free air bill today.

Thank you to everyone who contacted committee members. We think your pressure made a difference!

When is the next meeting? Moved here from SF (Which is completely Smoke Free!!)--we miss the lounge relaxing and smoke free atmosphere. We can't go to bars or lounges here due to the smoke--and I hear tavern owners complaining about losing business if they were part of the Bill--but hey--they are also losing business to Non Smokers also..

Wisconsin needs to wake up and get with the program by making all restaurants and bars smoke free. If Minnesota and Illinois can get it done, why can't we?!?!

These laws aren't so bad. In Hawaii only 20 bars closed out of 300, which is only three times the average and probably due to poor business practices.

Bars in the past have only sued their states after the ban passed out of ignorance. They should learn how to count money and listen to the smoke-free side's arguement.
