Congratulations to Washington State



Washington state is a leader in tobacco control in many ways. They have been smoke-free since December 8, 2005, nearly five years before Wisconsin. Washingtonians have been breathing easier, indoor air quality has improved, and there has been a very high compliance rate (over 90%).



Recently, Washington state has been in the media about its very low smoking rate, with a rate 15.3% for adult smokers. They are significantly before the national average at 18.4%.
